The Mangy Moose Restaurant & Saloon is an iconic après ski bar and restaurant located at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. They approached us to help them breathe new life into their business with a full re-brand touching every aspect of what they do.

Challenge
How do you revitalize a beloved brand without destroying its soul? The Mangy Moose has been a favorite haunt for ski bums, millionaires, and rockstars alike since it opened its doors in 1967. The building is bursting with eclectic ephemera, and they wanted to created a brand that captured that experience. We needed to create something instantly iconic that would feel like it had always been there.
Meet Manny
We knew from the start that the Mangy Moose brand would need its own main character: enter Manny. We produced a ton of different versions of the primary Manny illustration in order to find the right combo: one part Tintin, one part Asterix, and just the right amount of mange. We extended the brand from there with strong supporting typography, a unique color palette, and a slew of logo variations for different applications across the business.

Custom Illustration
We expanded the Mangy Moose brand visual language far beyond Manny, and have incorporated custom illustration across all elements of the brand. These fun, tongue-in-cheek illustrations bring playfulness to the website, signage, and merch.
Mangy Moose Website
The Mangy Moose is actually a collection of interlocking business verticals tied together under one brand. The Mangy Moose website needed to have effective landing pages for each unique vertical, including features like music scheduling, iMenu integration, and - above all - effective e-commerce. We designed and built a custom Shopify website to accomplish those goals. Since launch the site has seen a huge increase in visits, time on site, and interaction.
Mangy Moose Merchandise
We knew going in that they planned to grow the Mangy Moose brand through an expanded merchandise program. We have helped them develop designs for clothing, stickers, glassware, and other items. We have also created display materials, signage, and a fully custom Shopify e-commerce website to tie it all together.
Packaging Design
The Mangy Moose is also expanding into creating and selling packaged beverages. To date we have helped design, produce, and launch Mangy Moose Vodka, along with the Mangy Moose Spicy Marg and Lime Marg cans.
Physical Materials
We applied the new brand to every aspect of the physical building: menus, signage, TV graphics, carpets, placemats, and more. We also created LED neon signs for use throughout the building to incorporate the new brand into the existing eclectic vibe.
